    Default Snow Covering Entrance

How long can the snow be there, do you have to remove it, or do you suggest top ventilation?

    Thanks, donnie

I suggest a top entrance. The snow can stay there till you get a chance to remove. The bees will get enough air from leaks from the natural occuring breaks in the box and lids. But it does make it difficult for them to get out or clean the hive when you have a warm day. But you really need to put in a top entrance.

You always need ventilation in the winter and a top entrance works good. I don't run top entrances in late spring and summer just after 15 November in my area.
