Extractor motor problems

We are considering a Dadant 6-12 or a 20 frame extractor, construction seems to be quite good but, I know another respected beek that has ongoing motor problems with his Dadant twenty frame.
Anyone else having motor problems?
With newer direct drive systems is it too much load on the motor at startup? What are you favorite midsize power extractors?

we have an older Dadant 32+ frame extractor with a DC motor on it. Bought it used, the brushes where stuck, once they where loosened, no problems. The control is very handy, just a timer motor advancing a variac, then a diode bridge.

I have a couple of the Dadant 20 framers. One blows a fuse occasionally. A 5 minute fix.

I have 2 32 frame DADANT extractors. Never had an issue with the motor on either. I did have an issue with a faulty speed controller on one of the units and replaced the whole speed control unit for under $300.00. Other than that no problems.
