McDowell Co, NC 2011 Bee School
The McDowell HoneyBees (Marion, NC) announce their next Bee School. Everyone is invited to attend our highly popular Bee School---it's free and open to the public! From newbies to master beekeepers, there will be something for everyone. In addition to guest speakers covering major topics of interest each day, there will also be honey tasting, a honey extraction demo, raffles, door prizes, and lots more!
Title: Beekeeping Short Course
Begins: February 12, 2011 (three Saturdays)
When: Saturday 2/12, 2/19, 2/26 9am- 4pm
Where: McDowell Technical Community College; 54 College Drive, Marion, NC 28752
Cost: Free (optional textbook will be available at the course at a nominal cost)
Sponsors: McDowell Honeybees Club, McDowell Technical Community College and McDowell County Cooperative Extension Services
Additional Information: Open to anyone of any age interested in learning the basics of beekeeping, no experience needed. Information will be provided on how you and your family can contribute to the process and become a hobbyist beekeeper. There will be an opportunity to take the NC State Beekeepers Certification exam at the end of the course. A field day will be scheduled and the dates will be communicated at the first day of class.
