cardboard shb control
I know im in ohio and im coming into winter, but Im thinking ahead. I have started to see shb here in central ohio in my hives. Not in droves and masses or anything but they are there and I don't like em. I prevously thought they couldn't overwinter in ohio, but after a conversation with a local master beekeeper I learned that they can indeed over winter here. The best idea I heard to control them is use strips of cardboard and they will hide in there and then you burn the cardboard. Anyone every do this? Any tips on using this?
