My father is willing to help someone out around Bakersfield in preparation for Almonds. All his is wanting to do is learn/work with an experienced beekeeper. Not sure if he will available all the way through Almonds, but I know he is at least wanting to work now and a least up to almonds. He has his own gear, etc.

If you are interested in helping him out and get a little work done for free, he is willing.
