moving hives

I have a need to move my hives before next spring. there will be some excavating, construction and landscaping...is it ok? is it ok in the winter? i presume its not ok once they start working in the spring...it would be around 15 ft from where they are.

How many hives? You can move them all at once by closing them up and putting grass or a limb on the entrance. something they can reoriente theirselves to. Or you can move them 1' a day.
