I am a newbee, first hive in march and my hive has swarmed just this morn. I have been queenless 2 previous times as well so this was a new queen in the hive. My hive was inspected beg. of August and all was well (eggs, larvae, new queen). Inspected 3 days ago and hive looked strong (eggs, larvae, capped brood, good pattern, and queen was spotted)...but there were also at least 4 supercedure cells. I destoryed all of htem...advice of mentor helping me. Then today I see them leave the hive....fasinating yet so discouraging! They are in a tree too high to capture but why did they leave is my main question...and is there any way to lure them in a box? Thanks..I am ready to thow in the towel on these bees...jsut when I thought all was well.
