EPA has pulled Temik from the market. Systemic treatment used on potatoes, cotton and citrus has been immediately pulled and will be phased out over the following year. Over six million pounds of Temik was applied last year, This coming year the EPA will allow a reduced amount to be applied then the chemical will be pulled from the market. I am glad to see this, but this will also mean that citrus producers will be spraying more treatments for insect control. I have long suspected Temik as a big problem for us beeks.
