I love snakes. Being that I have been fishing almost 7 days a week lately I have seen quit a few. These are from "Snake Tank" It's a pond behind my house where we fish and covered up with Diamondback Water Snakes. Seen a Corn Snake too, but didn't have my camera that night.

    Post your snake pics.

Almost tripped over this little guy (girl?) on my way to the workshop.

It's a Prairie Kingsnake (Lampropeltis calligaster). I am told they used to be common around here, but their population has been decreasing.

    "I love snakes."

And what message shall we, as humans, take from that statement?

    Hambone,
do yourself a favor and schedule a fishing trip to the northwest; the fish are bigger and the snakes are smaller!

Saw a nice five foot black snake in my shed today, do not see as many as we used to but still some left. Beautiful creatures.

Right. Just a diamondback water snake. Non poisonous but agressive. They like to bite. At night they seem to be pretty docile and let me handle them if I am careful. Took my 4 year old over there tonight and feed them some Shad I had left over. She thought it was so cool to watch them come up and eat.

Kings are awesome! I don't have them around here, but I catch them at the deer lease in west texas. They like to eat the rattle snakes out there.
