    Question a lot of larvae dead

    Hello guys and gals I'm looking for a little are a lot of help here lol. I just got a nuc today 5 frames with larvae and caped brood and honey, when I got home I noticed 7 to 10 hive beetles which I killed. after I put the top on I sit back and watched the girls and I noticed a lot of larvae being brought out to the porch some bees flew off with the larvae I counted at least 17 TO 20 larvae being expelled is this normal or do I have a problem? any advice would greatly be appreciated

    No this is not normal for the larva to be needed carrying out.

    They may have gotten to hot while you were transporting them home or something else is wrong.

    had he treated for mites prior you picking them up. Apiguard will some time kill the larva during extreme hot weather.

    Thanks for chiming in, as far as being treated for mites I'm pretty sure he has not treated them.as far as the girls getting to hot that's a possibility but it was cloudy and only a 20 min trip.so what do you guys think could be going on here? thanks dan...

    Was it bee larva or could it been SHB larva

    I'd guess that during transportation some drone brood was damaged and the house bees were cleaning them out.

    I'd get a beetle trap on as soon as you can.

    Hey Danny, it could have been anything at this point. We are in really bad SHB territory. I have never had to use traps or anything else by just restricting the amount of room they have and keeping them in full sun. Its possible the nuc got thrown around a bit. Watch below the bottom board where your hive is. We need to define what kind of Larvae they are removing....

    I had the same thing happen to me today after doing a lengthy inspection. The temp was about 95, could it have been the heat?
