Busy week

My son is getting into beekeeping, so this week I made him some equipment.

• 6 - Eight frame hive boxes
• 2 - Screened bottom boards
• 2 - Telescopic outer covers
• 2 - Inner covers
• 2 - Hive stands
• 1- Frame perch
• 100 - Assembled medium frames

My thanks to Ross for providing the pattern and instructions for making and using a frame assembly jig.

Looks Good! When you put it all together like that it comes to reality that there is alot of work involved! I would like to know if you made the frame rest yourself and if so where did you find the material to make it?? Like the back hangers and the metal rests in the front! I try to look for stuff everywhere i go to see if it would work and nothing seems to go together with the plan so i havent been able to purchase anything that would actually work!

I'll post a picture of the frame perch with front and back views and also a material list.

It works well, by the way. Really helps to have a frame or two out of the hive when you are organizing and inspecting it.

Thanks for the kind comment.

Somebody posted recently on this forum, that he enjoyed the woodworking aspect of beekeeping just as much as the bee part. I agree. There is a lot of satisfaction in building the equipment that you use.
