My hive got mean.

In short, had a swarm and lost it. The remaining bee's were still very gentle. A few days later I then went into the hive and cut out the swarm cells. Man, the bee's got mean after that. I introduced a new queen three days later (yesterday) and they still are pretty hot. I can go around the hive and they start bouncing off me.

Will they calm down with the new queen?

Do you think they associate me with somebody who manhandled their hive and just want to keep after me?

How long, if ever, before they calm down?

When they have a Queen they should calm down.
This late in the season it might take a while.
