    Default Beginner needs opinion

First i have to say what a great site, from what i read so far everybody seems very informative and helpful. I caught a bee swarm near my house about a month ago, i bought a hive box complete with foundations and frames and installed my captured swarm. Im wondering if some can give me an opinion on what is taking place on my frames. In regards to the blackish cells present. Is this normal?

    Yup pollen.
When they mix it with nectar sometimes it does take on a darker color than when it is coming in to the hive on the bees.
Brood looks good and white, I'd say your well on your way to a healthy booming hive!!

Welcome to the site! That frames shows you've got a good laying queen, healthy larva, and pollen being stored in the dark cells.

Looks like they are doing just fine also with that plastic foundation, they'll use it if they don't have a choice...
