Odd ants

I had some ants in a deer camera this afternoon. It caught me by surprise. Have you ever seen anything like this happen? Why electrical boxes? I have never seen this happen. Or is this those crazy ants from the Houston area? Or is this normal?

I forgot to add that they were red w/ a black abdomen. Someone know what I am talking about?

Carpenter Ants maybe? I had a nest of them in my nail gun case a week or so ago.

That is what I think they looked like. Thanks Hambone. I dumped them real fast so I wouldn't get bitten. We have done cameras for 2-3 years and I have never seen this.
