Smile OBSESSED Proud Mama of her first home reared queen

    http://s97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...Queens%202010/

OBSESSED Proud Mama of her first home reared queen (have let hives requeen themselves previously). She is either a grandaughter of VP Queen Bees (adamf) or French Hill Apiary stock (mpalmer). Better records next time around!

OK... A little too much paint on her thorax (oh well) but other than that, she is a beauty and going to a good local home in her nuc soon.

heard today that she survived winter in her new apiary! Pretty good for one of my first attempts at lazy man's queen rearing.

Very cool. What method to you use to raise her?

Congratulations! It's always a great feeling to "make your own" queen. I did that last year for the first time, and was very pleased to see the mated laying queen in the nuc ("That's *my" queen there!!").

I think I'll try again this year as well.
