    Question Hive in tree

I am trying to figure out the best way to remove a hive of bees from the damaged knot-hole of a tree. The hive is not large. I think I could vac out most of them but I am not sure how to get the queen otherwise. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a hive and you don't want to hurt the tree you'll need to do a trap out. You won't get the queen but you'll remove the hive. If you want the genetics, set up swarm traps and wait for them to swarm or cut them out of the tree. It's all on what you are trying to accomplish

    Question Re: Hive in tree

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking about setting up a swarm trap, but was hoping there was a way to get the queen. You think a swarm trap would be better than using a bee vac?
