    Default Modified queen excluder

I took a wood bound queen excluder and cut a 3" wide opening on top side so that bees could go in and out above excluder. So far they are using this new opening.

Has anyone ever tried this and did it work to give bees shortcut to honey supers?

Yes folks have done things close by using a non-wood bound excluder and putting it on sideways.
