Default Slotted Top Frame and Plastic Foundation?

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody has tried plastic foundation in Kelley style
slotted top bar/ grooved sides/ and grooved bottom bar type wood frames?
Sure sounds like an easy/ quick method of drop in the foundation?
I see Kelley's states that it is for wax foundation (they don't say anything about plastic), just wondering if it would work with plastic and if it would hold up during the extracting process??
    Thanks! Mtn. Bee

Just received a reply from Kelley's and it sounds like plastic foundation is a go in the slotted frames, but with a tight fit!
There Permadent Foundation will fit but Pierco will not, when I asked why they stated that the Pierco is thicker.
This is good to know so a Beek don't end up ordering a bunch of foundation and frames that won't fit!
Just thought I would share in case anyone has the same idea that I did!

I tried one of my Kelley frames with one sheet of plastic foundation from Mann Lake. It snapped in perfectly, though I didn't drop it in from above. I think I prefer the Kelley frames for their wax foundation. I love the side notches.

The plastic frames I have looked at, all had hollow spots that were perfect for the small hive beetles to hide in!
