Try dadant. They have some plastic and metal bound excluders that are much cheaper than the wood bound. I think the plastic is $3 and the metal bound is $6.

At one time, and I don't know if this is still true, it was reported that the plastic queen excluders were hard on the bee's wings... because of the rough edges of the plastic, apparently.

Don't waste you hard earned money on the plastic ones!!!
Spend a little extra dough & buy the all metal ones.
They will last you with any amount of care 2 life times.
And the plastic ones, well there plastic!!!

All I want these for is to put under new packaged bees in new equipment for a couple of weeks so they won't abscond. So I'm looking for used, not new since I won't be using them after the queen starts laying.

I have heard of some people using an excluder for this purpose.
Trust me I have dumped many a hundred of package bees in my years as a beekeeper & the best way we always found is to set up your lower brood nest.
If you have an inside feeder as we do put a quart or two of feed in the feeder.
Put a second 9-5/8 empty shell on top of the 1st deep.
Very late in the day or near dark open the package of bees & set them in side the empty shell.
Install the lid on the hive.
Go back the next day & there will be very few bees left in there shipping cage.
Remove the cage & place it some where the bees will not find it.
Many times on the 2nd day visit we have released the queen into the brood nest.
Wait a week & add frames to the 2nd brood nest.

Not so sure I can take the risk of them leaving. These are for my customers who want the new hive and bees all set up so they can take it home.
