    Default Greasy Bees

I checked the hives yesterday since it got up to 52. One of the weak ones was practically dead but there was a very small cluster of about 30 bees but about half of them looked water soaked or greasy. Could the snow have melted and dripped down on these and caused this appearance? Is there any disease that would cause this? Never seen it before??

Chronic Bee Paralysis Virus will cause bees to have a greasy look. I have seen colonies with a very heavy mite load and were on the edge of crashing develop a shabby "bag lady" look to them.

Was there a point of water entery that would allow for moisture to drench the cluster?
