The tongue definitely distinguishes this disease from other brood diseases. It is not usually seen, but if it is you can be sure "you've got it".

Do bees like skunk cabbage? We've got a lot of it around us.
Skunk cabbage is one of the first pollen plants here. Not blooming yet, I don't guess.
