    Default Foundationless with paint stick

When I put a paint sticks in my frames for a foundationless starter I have 7/8" sticking out. Is that to much for a starter strip, do they need to be ripped down to about 3/8" or does it not matter?

I'd like to know that too. And...are paint sticks better than popsicle sticks?

I wouldn't trust the typical paint sticks since they are thin. I could see buying foundationless Frames and trying that.

I just pop off the wedge, turn it and staple it back on. no problems, bees take to it fine. dont spend any $ either.

Break them in half. 1/4-3/8" sticking out is enough.

7/8" won't hurt. If you split it in half lengthwise it will stick out about 5/16" and that is good enough.
