Anyone know where to get this in the Texas area? I see Ruhl bee sells it, but the shipping would kill me.

Drivert is used to frost wedding cakes.
And, it's used in doughnut frosting.
Check out a local doughnut shop and see if they can help you.

If you can’t find it local though the places Ernie suggested. Johnson Bros in San Antonio sales it, but they won’t sell to the public. They will sell to a company call Emma’s. Emma said she will by and sell anything Johnson’s carries. Emma 210-657-9600

The guys in Cali Dadant say it will cost me freight (42$ per bag). Johnson Bros. say they cannot get it here in Dallas. Doughnut shops/bakeries do not have it, nor do any of the 10 distributors I called. Emma is supposed to call me back. Any more ideas?
Domino calls it "fondant cane sugar". It is pretty readily available from most local distributors of baking ingredients. However, they typically don't like to sell it in quantities of less than 1 pallet (usually about 1000 lbs). Here is a link where you can order it in small quantities:

They also have a 50 lb bag, but I don't know what the freight would be:

"The UNKNOWN, huh? That would be SNORBERT ZANGOX over in Waycross."
Couldn't one use a coffee grinder (for a small batch) or food processor to make drivert-like sugar from regular beet sugar? In other words, is the granulation the only difference?
Drivert contains 8% invert sugar-invert is easy for the bees it is like honey-sugar is not just sugar -some are simple and some are complex -RDY-B
I just wanted to post back that I found a local source for drivert sugar - Mom & Pop doughnut shop. They are charged $36 for a 50 lb. sack; they are charging me the same, no mark up.
Thanks a lot.
You are lucky. Nothing here in Texas that I can find.
Local bakery here uses Dawn Foods, got the sales rep's name, and will go direct to them in the future.
Check out their website: http://www.dawnfoods.com/public/mana...tion/index.Asp. There is a location in Dallas.
Good luck.
I was thinking the other day and I forgot to look while I was there. Have you tried HEB-Central Market? They got all kinds of specialty goods and just might carry the drivert sugar.

Thanks for the link RDY. I was at my moms house last night and she had what I posted. She said she can't find it anywhere but one store 20 miles from here. So I thought I would ask. I didn't think it was, but now I know what I am looking for.
