Ain't Over Til The Surface-To-Mass Ratio Challenged Human Female Emits Melodic Tones
So, after a nice goldenrod flow we had a real drencher with Bill passing by, and that seemed to put the kibosh on the flow. BUT, we have just had six days in a row of sunny, warm, dry weather, which seems to have kicked off another flow, Might be Japanese Knotwood, but I also see them bringing in yellow pollen, so there is still some goldenrod out there, too. Asters are also in full bloom, and many summer flowers are still going strong (rudbeckia, phlox, hydrangea, etc.).
In three days my scale hive has gained 12 pounds. I'm sure that is not huge by the standards of some out there, but it is the best three-day increase I have seen all year. We are supposed to have several more days of similar weather aheead, so I am hopeful for a really good final push going into fall.
Of course, I JUST pulled all my supers. But, at this time of year I really want that to go to the bees to build up stores for winter, anyway, so no complaints.
