Earlier today, I noticed a bee on the top of my hive that seemed to have cinnamon brown glossy dots on the back of her hind legs, sort of like where the pollen would go.
I wasn't sure what it was, but when I looked at the Propolis on my inner hive cover, it was the same color. But then I am not exactly sure what Varroa Mites look like on my bees either. If it was Varroa, then I would find it hard to understand that the Varroa mites were in the exact same location on both of her hind legs.
If this was Propolis, is this where the Bees carry it in order to propolize everything. This has been the only bee that I ever saw that had this on its hind legs. If so, did they collect it from other bees in the nest?
I don't have a picture. Any thoughts. Thanks.
