Default Bees acting strange this morning.

woke up this morning, and stepped outside and there was a bee that immediately greeted me and followed me back in the house, went back outside and noticed there were 15-20 bees all just hovering around the house looking at it, walked around to the other side and same thing over there, I had bees follow me the whole way. Not a single one exhibited aggressive behavior, they just hovered around me, they all looked like they were orienting. I had a lot of bees bearding yesterday due to heat, could these be scout bees?

Our bees were acting strange too. Got in to pull some full supers and they were a bit aggressive, I had to put gloves on after about half a dozen stings which is abnormal. I think they sense a change in the weather, it's supposed to cool down in IL for the next few days.

Harley, sounds like u might have scouts checking ur house as a potential new hive spot. U might have a hive that is about to swarm.

That is what I am afraid of, But my mentor came over and we checked every hive thoroughly because we were trying to determine if I had enough brood to move over to a queenless hive and never saw the first swarm cell, and all hives had plenty of room. I did have a couple of hives bearding excessively last night, but it was 88 deg and muggy so I didn't think that was abnormal at all.

They have 3/4 of an empty box on top and a top entrance which consists of a migratory cover and shims when I got home for lunch I checked and everything was back to normal, I could walk up and stick my nose a foot in front of the entrance and look in and wasn't even greeted.
