I'm looking for registered honey locations in South Dakota for 400-800 hives. Could buy or trade hives for locations.

okay, not the answer you wanted, but whats a registerd honey location???

I don't believe in our state location laws but would be willing to do something on shares with you next season possibly. We do a 40/60 split if you provide the supers. This would be a safer bet as location prices in close proximity to me have gone for $1000 each and that does not guarantee a location. The landowners still have to sign a new permission slip to the state for you. Beware of some of the retiring beekeepers antics to sell you locations.

It's a location that only you can place your bees and not be closer than about 3 miles from another registered location.
It probably states the maximum number of hives per drop too.
It prevent over crowding.

Sweet clover and alfalfa. Canola is mostly in ND.
