have a hive from a trapout almost 2.5 mos back. requeened w/ carnie queen...they still refuse to draw and expand past 3 frames are they doomed or what can i do? im in upstate ny btw

Nope. Not doomed. Check for mites and treat if necessary. If the queen is laying well, they just don't need the space. Carnies seem to manage colony size and space pretty well. Are you feeding? If not, I would see if they take it. Give them a reason to make more space.

Carnies tend to stop laying when there is little or nothing coming in. If that is the case, then feed but I would use a top feeder to prevent robbing as opposed to an entrance feeder.
