Default Video of a swarm capture

Just got this swarm yesterday in a backyard in the San Fernando Valley. You always worry about the possibility of Africanized bees down here, but so far this season I've done a garage cutout and this swarm capture, and both were very well-behaved... although of course you'd expect the swarm to be, regardless.

    Enjoy!

Good job. Too bad for the tree though.

You should have been in San Diego for the ball game yesterday! Shame that they had to do the dish soap thing on the poor critters!

Kind of curious why you didn't just use the bucket you had instead of cutting into the tree. Guess it depends on the area. Here in Colorado most of our trees are ornamental's and the homeowner's place a lot of value on them.

It was just high enough to make it a bit of a hassle to use the bucket, and when I got there the owner said he didn't care if I cut the tree limb. that seemed like the easiest way to me at the time, but I suppose I could've done the other... I was racing the clock; needed to get home and set them up before dark, so I went with brute force instead of brains

Anything was better than the alternative. The guy was planning to kill all of them that day; a person I work with (it's her uncle's place) asked him to hold off 'til I could get there after work.
