    Default Beeyard Signs

Does anyone know of a supplier of beeyard signs? I'm looking for something a bit softer and fuzzier than the stock "CAUTION, BEEYARD NO TRESPASSING!!" Rather more like "Bees At Work" or along those lines.

I keep all of my hives out of sight if possible and don't want to call attention to them. The bees aren't likely to bother anyone that doesn't bother them. If they are stupid enough to open or disturb the hives, no sign is likely to help them anyway. Other than maybe one from Jeff Foxworthy?

I like the one from Betterbee, page 88 of their 2009 catalog. Brushy Mountain and others also sell similar signs. Placing such a sign may not stop intruders from messing with the hive, but it goes a long way in reducing the beekeeper's liability in case someone is stung while messing around the bee yard. My attorney told me to be sure and have them posted around the apiary.

Default you could devise your own

I've been pleased with the work done by www.Vistaprint.com so far, and they sell signs you can word however you wish. They often run sales and you might well get one or two for free the way they do business with new customers.

I haven't bought any signs from them, but the business cards and magnetized business cards were really top notch and cheap cheap cheap.

    win-win

Thanks for the leads. Yes it IS a liability issue, I need the signs to give fair notice and they'll be in proximity to the hives so it's not like they're going to be creating unnecessary attention to them. That print house looks like it might be just the thing.

I see signs on ebay all the time, but I won't post any because it's like saying "hey kids, come over here and vandalize my hives" around here.

Vistaprint makes yard signs, similar to the ones you see at election time. Would last for a while in the beeyard, but not forever. they also make vinal banners. I have ordered all and quality is great. Price is cheap, but shipping is high.

Not too long ago I received an email with a picture of a sign. It read "If you can read this, You are in range." And it had a picture of a rifle. I think that would be a great sign for the apiary, with a picture of a bee instead of the rifle.
