    Hello,

    I do not keep bees...yet. I am interested in bees (I like to observe them) and the healing properties of honey.

    I have a question: is it true that heating honey, for instance, using it as a sweetener in tea, changes its chemical structure and thereby reverses its medicinal properties? I read that this is so in a book on Ayuvedic medicine.
    I hope someone has the answer to this.

    Yes, heating honey will destroy certain enzymes which are considered beneficial.

    If you're interested in bees, I recommend getting involved with a local bee club. Clubs often offer beginning beekeeping classes and are great places to find mentors and get connected with nearby beekeepers.
