Hello All,

Earlier this week I captured a swarm and placed it in a hive next to an existing hive that is a new packaged bee hive. The next day the bees left the hive without a trace. I thought the bees were gone for good.

I just finished my hive inspection on my other hive, (six weeks on a packaged bee hive) The amount of bees now present in this hive is far greater than at last weeks inspection. I still have lots of capped brood in the frames.

Could the recently captured bees been allowed to move over into the existing hive by themselves without a robbing incident. Or is my hive just super expanding on its own?

Has anyone seen this behavior before?
