Default The older I get, the dumber I get

My last order from BetterBee included four more polystyrene nucs. Finally got around to setting them up yesterday, and one of the covers was missing. Have never had a problem with BB before, so this was odd. Looked all over (shipment was in seven boxes) but could not find it. Called today. Megan looked into it and said the weights on my order checked out and there were no extra covers in the shipping area. She asked if I would please check the boxes again. Not in the mood to debate the issue, I said sure. Just went out to the barn, where I keep my bee supplies in an old horse stall. Went through all the boxes again, even though I KNEW I had checked them already. In the last box, what did I find? The missing cover. Duh.

Tomorrow, I will call back and apologize for being stupid.

    Default Bee Gremlins!

The bee gremlins struck again! Never admit old age or being just silly! Wisdom comes to those who know where to place the blame.

The main thing is that you got all of your order!

Well, this morning at 0840 I received a call from Megan at BetterBee. I thought she was just following up on my inquiry, but she actually called to thank me for posting here on the forum. Seems the folks over at BetterBee read the forums whenever they can to keep up on problems, new products, etc. We had a nice conversation while she waited for the phones to go live at 0900. Saved me from having to call back today. I asked if they could check into having cover shims made for the polystyrene nucs, since that would help a lot when feeding dry sugar and pollen patties in the winter/spring. BB keeps a running list of customer requests for products, so, if you have some, you should share with them.

That call was a pleasant surprise. So, remember, be careful what you type, Big Brother (or Big Sister) might be watching (Hi Megan, I placed my order on-line.)

I'm more of the school - Measure once, screw up, throw pencil across the room, swear, get new piece of wood, repeat. It's one of the reasons I buy most of my woodenware.

I'm so happy to hear I'm not the only one. In the end it's cheaper just to buy it all than to "save" by destroying lumber.
