My Little Wonder extractor has developed a leak where the bottom is welded/braised? into the sides. Basically, they have seperated for about 4-5 inches and and created a leak.
Is this repairable? It doesn't seem to be welded, so I have no clue what type of shop would even do this work. I also don't know if the cost would outweigh buying a new tank from Dadant. (assuming one is available) Any thoughts?
Sorry to hear about the leak. I am pretty sure it can be repaired or glued and painted with food grade paint. It sounds to me that I will be happy I purchased a Maxant 3100
Had the same thing happen to me a few years back. The seam seperated and the bearing holder in the bottom came loose. I took it to a local motorcycle shop and had the kid there braze it for me. Works perfectly again.
If no welders avaiable try your muffler repair place, most will braze it up for you, then there is the "gift to mankind", JB Weld at your auto parts store and at some Wally-Worlds.
Only three things need too repair things with these days:
Duck Tape - If it moves and ain't suspposed to
WD 40 - If it don't move and it's supposed too
JB Weld - For all other repairs
" If a hammer won't fix it, it must be an electrical problem "
I've fixed everything from leaks in gas tanks, to (with some wire for reinforcement) carburetor linkage, to (again with reinforcement) the handle on a vacuum cleaner. It's wonderful stuff.
