When I grow up, I want to be like John K.......
I wonder if the bees will be allowed to keep any of their honey.
I wonder if they have it up higher to get a photo op with a flyover of Air Force One in the background?

"Insiders" have give a number of reasons. The most often mentioned is that it's very close to where Marine One lands and the rotor wash along the ground is quite strong. Also, many events are held on the South Lawn - imagine having a 1000 kids doing an Easter egg hunt in your apiary! Lastly, don't forget that the White House is one of the most "secure" sites on the planet. Charlie was given certain instructions and discouraged from asking too many questions!
And that's so the entrance is at eye level to the kids? Giving the bees a straight shot to bust a cap in their face![]()
I don't know about the rest of you beeks out there? But I always try to locate my hives at helo landing sites or pads. Helps keep the ground under the hives clean!![]()
