    Nice!

Great article about the importance of vegetables and organic eating in the diets of children.

Great to see that, the garden and bees, except they use the word organic and without a doubt the soil they are planting in/on has had several chemicals applied to it over the years from the landscapers. Either way it's great to see the whole idea as a model for others.

My first thought when I heard about the garden was "They need some BEES!"
I have sent an email expressing my pleasure at the prospect of beehives in the white house garden. http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact/

The president is probably reading it right now.

Politics aside, as a beekeeper and basketball fan I am very pleased the Pres is putting in a garden with beehives and can't wait to see the basketball court.

    Sundance...just think of it -
    "The Nation's Beekeeper"
    "The National Beehives"
"D.C.Wildflower Honey" - now that would bring a good price!

I would like to have 'that' beekeeper's budget.

I would not like to be in charge; too much pressure. What if the bees don't make any honey?

There are some bees at the Smithsonian just a little ways away down the Mall. I bet there are other hives in the area too, unmanaged ones that is.

Good to see, although most of it looks like rabbit food.
I see a space for raspberries, blackberries, etc. though.
I heard Michelle say there were going to have a beehive too, and I thought that was great.
