    Default First bees

Any thoughts as to whether swarm or cutout bees are going to be more aggressive than package or nucs for a first timer. Missed my date with the bee man and thinking I can get some swarm action to fill my first two hives this year. Also have two trees to cut bees from but will wait for better weather. Thanks John.

got 2 packages last year. one nice, one a real biotch. could work the first without gloves, second I wanted a flame thrower. I cut a colony out of a house in the summer and I cut them out without gloves or smoke. doesn't seem to matter where they are from, as much as it does "who they are from" if that one hive hadn't froze this winter, she was going to be dead as soon as I could find another queen.

Swarms are usually gentle. Find a local Beekeepers Club and see if any members might want to sell a swarm or two.
