I have a super and a deep of a dead hive with a little honey; I suspect the hive dead because of mites. If I freeze the frames it kill the mites on the frames? Do mites live in frames with no bees around?
Thanks a lot,
Stavros

Yes freezing for 24 hours will kill the mites, as for surviving in comb with no bees, I really do not know.
Mites don't live very long at all w/out bees to live on. I wouldn't bother freezing combs to kill mites, not combs from a deadout anyway.

If the bees are dead, the mites are dead.
