Hazlenut pollen

I brushed past some of my Hazlenut bushes today and got covered in a cloud of pollen. Do the girls like the stuff? Didnt see any bees but it was getting dark and cold.
I started feeding them 1:1 just in caes they where interested but they seem to be happy w/ what they have. Them legs where full od white the also the lt yellow Hazlenut pollens.

this is our earliest (major-ish) source of pollen here in the PNW. If they can fly, they seem to love it. Yesterday, I saw Alder catkins opening or almost ready to open here.

Bees gather Hazelnut because it's the first around. It has a low nutritional value, 5% protein. Mind you it's the trigger that gets the queens egg laying. We had some decent weather 2 weeks ago and it has since cooled off. That weather got the bees quit active.
