Hello Sundance. I am a small commercial Beek. My question is when doing 400-500 boxes with frames, spraying each individual frame ( both) sides is very time consuming. Can this be sprayed between the frames while still in the box? or is there a device/way to treat a large number of frames with being so time consuming? thanks for your time GB.

I remember it being discussed that a treatment can last for more than a year, do you put a mark on the frames when they were treated? Like the queen color marking or do you just treat every year?

Vita, the company that produced Certan®, now B401®, is also the same company that produces; Apiguard® and Apistan®, as well as several other products for beekeeping.

I too am mystified about the lack of any product formulated with Bt 'azawai' registered for use against wax moths and available in the U.S.A. Did wax moths suddenly become a non-problem in the U.S.A? That hasn't been my experience. Wax moth have been and continue to be the number one pest, besides Colorado river toads, that give my bees the most trouble. I've always been troubled by the statement commonly heard about wax moths, "how they usually aren't a problem for a strong colony". Sure they quickly and easily destroy weak colonies or unprotected combs, but if everyone monitored their colonies as frequently as I usually do, they might notice that wax moths can be the reason that strong colonies become weak and are reduced to webs and frass by wax moth larvae.

Besides being toxic to humans and bees, paradichlorobenzene, (the only "treatment" approved for use in many parts of the U.S.A., but not all) is not really an effective deterrent while the combs are in use by the bees. I'd rather eat traces of Bt, bacteria that are common in soils throughout the world, than even traces of paradichlorobenzene.

I am not aware of such a device.

The main issue is that cells are difficult to get into without pulling
    them.

For larger scale I use a 2 gallon pressurized sprayer.
