I'm making a list for a beginner's beekeeping class.
What was the best advice someone gave you for your first year of beekeeping?
What was the worst advice?

The best advice I got in my first year was "don't expect to get rich"

Go slow and enjoy...........
Don't be afraid to open the colony and inspect.
Granted it may "slow" them down, but there is
so much to learn by observing.
Don't get frustrated when you screw up, you
will.
Visit Beesource, that's the best advise.
Visit Michael Bush's web site, an extraordinary
recourse.
The best advice was to read beginning beekeeper books and find a mentor.
The worst advice was, son you don't need them gloves or veil..Jack
Best advice: (1) PERSEVERENCE; (2) In beekeeping, your problems are your best learning opportunities. Both, I've realized, can be applied to life in general.
Worst advice: "You can feel things alot better without gloves." That's absolutely true, and the truth sometimes hurts.
