Plasma Cutter

I am looking to buy one of those entry level 110V
plasma cutters.

Just wondering if any of you have any suggestions
or experience with the cheap models that are out
there. I hear they are pretty good. The only units
I have any experience on are 220V Thermodynamics.

Thanks Kieth......... but I need price and portability.
Love to have both a 220V and a 110V. But for
now a 110V is what I need.

It's mainly for light gauge steel.

SD, used a 110v snap/on air arc and it was a nice machine If I recall it cut up to 3/16. It was great for body work and light gauge material

There's a ton of "Chinese" machines out there
that I am particularly interested in hearing about.

Hate to buy Chinese, but most everything you buy
has it's guts made there. I heard rumors Miller's
have Chinese guts.

I have a hypertherm 350. if I remember right I paid 1200 will work either 110 or 220. I have always used it on 220. Has worked great with no problems at all. Will cut 3/8 steel but not always a straight cut, thicker the material the more it angle cuts.

I got a thermal dynamics 110 unit it will cut up to 3/16 but I have pushed it thru 1/4 steel on occasion. I like the heck out of it. Price on it wasnt bad years back when I bought it. The consumables are where they get you.
