I have started putting a wax coating on the plastic foundation I have for next year. I see I am not going to have enough.
What is the going price for clean wax if I can find it locally?

seens to vary somewhat from place to place and where you buy it. most bee supply houses will buy beeswax so that should define some floor on the price. hobby stores here list it at $10/pound (the product is quite clean but very expensive). I have been told (need to check on the specific of this detail myself) that dadant buy (or allows credit) on beeswax. I would suspect that at or about the $3 to $4 per pound level you should be able to acquire some acceptable beeswax.
I have never done what you describe.... is the purity of the beeswax important?
I know around these parts I can buy it from other beekeepers at around 2 bucks a pound if I need extra. Hope that helps.
Is there any available?
I sell my clean beeswax for $5 a pound.
I sellmost of it to a very large sideliner who has a very large candle business. He likes my wax because of its purity.
