Varroa - how much is too much?

Treated my hive with MiteAway II for the past 3 weeks - mite count down from 100+ to between 15 and 20. Is this still too many, and should I risk doing another treatment? Seems to be a little egg laying happening in the hive as we head toward Winter.

This is my 1st year and I don't quite know what to do.

Down is always good but we need to know how you go about counting mites to be of much help. How often are you counting?

I counted mites during a 24 hour period. Temperature 50 during the day and 30ish overnight. I made a sticky board out of the reverse side of contact paper.

I think you were at least 1 month late treating with Mite Away.
Formic Acid efficiency is temperature sensitive and in October most of the damage is done by Varroa.
Try to adjust the timing next year. Don't do another treatment.
