Hey!
Hopefully AJ is around and can help me with this. I have installed the traps in my hives, and put the recommended amount of oil in them (3-4mL). I noticed today that I have SHB crawling out of the trap, covered in oil. Should they be able to do that? I thought they would drown in the oil. Do they crawl off and die elsewhere?
Let me know!

hi steve the beetle eaters require 3 to 4 mm of oil in depth not in measure just enough to cover the baffles in the bottom of the oil chamber.yes it has been observed that shb will escape covered in oil but to no avail as the bees have been observed carting out oil coated shb thanks aj
