The last few times I've opened my hives ,I have found cockroaches between top lid and inner cover. Is there any way to stop this from happening?
Thanks.

i see them too sometimes. generally they run away ,but if i can i flick them down into the hive and let the bees play with them for a while.

go to an upper entrance with no inner cover. solves more problems than just roaches. good luck, mike

I've got them too. They do not appear to do any damage and the bees tend to ignore them. I do as well. Unless someone can correct me, they're just looking for a place to be protected.
