Hi all, getting ready for winter as many of us are.

I recently purchased some of the vented inner covers from Honey Run Apiaries.

Last winter I used a shim on top of my hives so that I could add sugar during the winter if need be. The ones I made are like 3" deep...so maybe half of a shallow super.

Does anyone see any reason why I couldnt set-up the vented inner cover (in 'winter' mode) over the top of the 3" shim?
