I've got a deep full of brood, honey and pollen, and a medium super packed with honey. Plus, a shallow above an excluder, which they're doing nothing with.
Given that SoCal bees tend to fly pretty much year 'round, do I need to leave the medium on as a food source, or is the honey in the deep plenty of reserve?
I'm not desperate for the honey, so I'm probably going to play it safe and leave it on this year. But I was curious if that's the common practice.
