New Hive Struggling
I've got one hive that just sees to be struggling. I took two frames from another hive with the nurse bees and added to this box. All the bees hatched as planned and added quite a bit of bees. The issue is the bees seemed to have filled in all the cells with honey before the queen could lay eggs. So, I'm not getting any new eggs being laid.
When they build out new foundation they are filling that right away with honey and pollen.
I'm also seeing this in my other boxes.
Any suggestions?
How much room are you giving them to expand?
If it isn't broken, don't try to fix it. If you build it, they will fill it.
They haven't built out all the frames yet. 6 frames about 2/3 on each side. Two completely empty. I just added a second hive body today to see if that will help.
If you have no eggs, either find your queens to ensure you have them, or order new ones. You should have eggs if you have a queen.
