Northern Queens

I'd like to buy 12 northern queens which have been bred from a breeder on BeeSource who is located along or above lat. 41.955 (PA/NY line) and have them delivered ASAP. I don't want queens that were moved from the south to the north. While I am not particular on the breed, I would like options to choose from. I have carni's, italian, russian crosses, and mutts at the moment and want a hearty mite resistant line that I could put in a newly (to be) established and somewhat isolated yard. If you have bear resistant bees that would be a plus! (JK'ing and thinking of a queen breeder friend here on BS who recently had bear problems) Please PM me with your thoughts. Thanks, Jeff

www.ziaqueenbees.com uses breeder queens that have survived an upper peninsula Michigan winter. Good service, acceptance, laying pattern.

regards to Zia queens- does anyone know how early in the season they have queens available?

Or does anyone know of other SOUTHERN breeders who raise (overwintered / survivor) "northern" stock complete with northern drone colonies -- AND have queens ready early in the spring?

After quite a bit of searching, I am surprised that more breeders are not into something like this- considering the number of early spring queens ordered from Cali, Kona, SE US...

Purvisgs: It's very difficult to compete for early queens with Calif., Florida, Hawaii, etc., when it's raining, hailing, blowing, etc., in the northern regions in the spring. But a wonderful fantasy!! Some of my virgins needed parachutes and GPS to find there way back home after a few tornado blows this spring.

I have some Queens, If anyone is interested some were grafted in June and some in July. They have good laying pattern. I guess you could say the are open mated Sullivan County queens. Pm if anyone is interested.
